I got to know this movie from Nanao@vox

Quiet, earnest, and a bit nerdy, Toyama Satoshi runs a marine plants store where he can indulge in his love for aquatic vegetation. Though he barely makes enough money, Satoshi is determined to hold on to the store as it fulfills a promise he made to his two best friends years ago. One day, a beautiful young model shows up at his steps asking for a job. As clueless as ever, it takes some time before Satoshi realizes that she is actually his childhood friend and first crush Karin. Though he doesn’t understand what has brought Karin to him so suddenly after thirteen years, Satoshi is glad to have her back in his life. Their happiness is short-lived though as they soon receive sobering news about their friend Yuji .

- I remembered seeing this in my magazine before =) But I didnt expect myself watching the movie. Well anyway… the movie was good… let me just rant for a moment… I am watching TOO MUCH masami dramas… LOL XD anyway, a flashback-ish drama with a good aim. Nice cinematography but I cant catch up… maybe because I hate the lead guy… hahaha… so I ended up fast forwarding it. Hahaha… but even so I kinda liked it T_T

this was yody_bear@vox and paintedbutterflies@vox’s recommendation =)

“She used to lie very often.”

Due to his inferiority complex, Makoto shies away from other people, but Shizuru manages to make him open up to her. Because of their friendship, Shizuru takes interest in photography and they often go to a forest, partially hidden from the public, to take photos.

Shizuru wants nothing but to be at Makoto’s side. When Makoto starts liking a college friend Miyuki, Shizuru decides that she too will like Miyuki and becomes her friend.

One day, Makoto asks Shizuru what birthday present she would like. With her interest in a photography contest, Shizuru wants a photo of them kissing in the hidden forest.

Since that day of the forest kiss Shizuru disappears from Makoto’s life.

The whole movie is not just a concept of love… but also a concept of maturing, friendship and hope. It display serene photography which I so LOVE. This movie is a must watch =)

This is a movie recommended by Zaizaiaddict@vox =)

A Moment to Remember follows the theme of discovery in a relationship and the burdens of loss caused by Alzheimer’s disease.

The first segment of the film, staged in romantic comedy style, introduces the protagonists, a woman named Su Jin and a man named Chul Soo. The movie highlights their accidental meeting in a convenience store and confusion over a can of soda, followed by their subsequent courting despite the social standings that should have kept them apart.

The second segment follows the couple now settling into married life. Su-Jin learns to be a housewife as her husband cares for her. But as the segment progresses, Su-jin begins to display forgetfulness, including an incident in which a fire breaks out because of a forgotten stove. While Chul Soo caught the fire in time, the seriousness of the incident and others draw them to seek medical help.

The third segment involves the revelation of Alzheimer’s disease and the couple’s consequent response to it. Su Jin is heavily burdened by the knowledge that she will forget her husband and hides it from him at first until he seeks advice from the doctor himself. Despite the disease, they make the commitment to stay together and as the disease progresses, the trials the couple go through increase because of Su Jin’s forgetfulness.

The fourth segment reveals Su-jin in the final stages of the disease and the grief Chul Soo experiences because of it. Yet he remains beside her, despite her lost memory, hiding his eyes behind sunglasses when he visits her so she can’t see his tears.

The end of the movie finishes off with Chul Soo replaying the first time they met in the convenience store with all her friends and family in the store. Chul Soo takes her back to the retirement home as they are driving off he finally tells her he loves her. -Wikipedia

- A heart touching movie of a husband willing to take the odds for his wife. A love that is so pure that no one could even crush it. The plot, storyline and the musical score is so good. One of the best korean movies ever made =)

Akihabara is a Tokyo mecca for otakus, geeks, nerds and wannabes who are devoted to manga, anime, electronics, video games, cult figurines, and all other things that suck their time, money and lives. Page, Box, Akira, Taiko, Daruma, and Izumu are such otakus. They have problems but are experts in specific fields and very loyal to Akihabara. They come together to form a troubleshooting group they name “Akihabara@DEEP” to protect Akihabara and solve any problems that might harm their beloved mecca.

Based on Ira Ishida’s novel, Akihabara@DEEP. This is the movie adaptation.

- This movie is certainly otaku themed. With all the terms and words said, I only understood 50% of everything. I believe you should watch the series first before watching this movie. Because you will end up like me understanding nothing, anyway… if your an otaku… maybe you should understand it without even watching the series =) I watched this because I heard Haruma Miura was one of the new cast… hahaha… so much for my fangirling =P
